Does celebrating yourself bring you value in your life?
You bet your sweet tushy it does, and let me share with you why.
As children, we are usually celebrated in and throughout our adolescent years. Some less, and some more. Then we go rebellious stage in our teenage years, trying to create our own experiences. Then young adults, if you were anything like me, you would party and explore life for all it is (as a free adult). We then start to see a curve around the '30s. Some people start to take life more seriously within their careers, start getting married, and settling down. Then you have others who still have not figured things out yet (I was in this group), and continue to party, on and off.
A mid-life crisis seems to be a normal thing people talk about. There is definitely a shift around this time, that is noticeable. This is when we start to really reevaluate our life, and our life decisions. We reflect back, and look forward at how much longer we may have of life? Yikes!!!
Celebrate yourself
Celebrate yourself every step of the turn, every accomplishment you achieve. It is good when other people celebrate us as well. But we cannot count on others to make ourselves feel good in life. That is our responsibility in life, no one else. As it is their job to feel good in their life, then it creates a boomerang effect that bounces back on others around, and including us.
How you celebrate yourself
When you accomplish challenges in life, even if they are only small. Always do something for yourself. It is ok to brag a little to others that you did something you put out to do. Many people only speak of the things they cannot do. So, it is refreshing to hear that people are actually taking action in their life, and doing what they say, they are going to do.
Jump up and down and dance
Sing a happy song
Do this for 1 minute. Just 1 minute, that's it.
This will engrain a reward into the subconscious mind, that will create lasting effects. So next time we remember did good, and not just do good and forget about things. We need to remember all the good we have done in life. We need to remember all our accomplishments in life.
This helps keep depression away.
This keeps us motivated
This boosts our self-esteem
This improves our future success rate
So just do-little micro celebrations throughout the year, months, weeks, and days in our lives. It makes for a much memorable memory throughout life. So that is the value you bring into your life. That being Life itself. As we tend to remember more of Life and our accomplishments. Instead of death, our life dreams throughout life, creating depressing karma, creating a depressing life, until death itself. No do-overs!!!
Smile
Seriously, smile. It changes our own chemistry when we smile.
Do a dance, even if it is your seat. Throw your hands in the air, like you just don't care, and give me a whoop whoop. Your breathing, your heart is beating, you are alive my friend. That is worth celebrating on its own. Enjoy your journey, by learning to celebrate yourself.
Don't forget to smile.
